Buying LaunchAI
What is LaunchAI?
A desktop app for Mac, Windows, and Linux that builds, runs, and manages AI agents. Agents use your business apps through the screen, like your staff do, so they need no API, connector, or MCP server. Product →
How much does it cost?
Prices are not published on the site, so ask on the demo call. Compare the quote with the cost of the hours the workflow takes today, and budget separately for model usage, which you pay your model provider directly.
What else do we need?
A machine to run agents on (a workstation, a spare PC, or a desktop left on overnight) and, for steps that use AI, an account with a model provider you choose. You also need a process owner who can show the work and a reviewer with time to check output early on.
How do we start?
With one workflow and a pilot. The demo maps it into steps and ends with a written plan: discovery, mapping, build, supervised runs, then production. Nothing goes live until your approver signs off. Book a demo →
Does LaunchAI replace our integration platform?
No. Keep Zapier, Make, n8n, or Workato for API-to-API work. A webhook from any of them can start a LaunchAI run the moment the work hits a screen.
Building agents
Do I have to write prompts?
No. You explain the job like you would to a new hire and show a step on screen when that is easier. The Studio only asks questions whose answers change what the agent does.
Does building touch our live systems?
Yes. The Studio proves each step by doing it in the real app while you watch, and waits for your approval before the next one. Use a test company if you have one.
Who writes the documentation?
The Studio does, as you build: a flowchart, plus a screenshot and short clip of every step. Every revision is kept, so the procedure an auditor reads is the one the agent ran.
Can an agent use an API for some steps?
Yes. A workflow can mix API calls and screen steps, whichever each step allows. The screen covers everything an API cannot reach.
Can one workflow cross several apps?
Yes, and most do. One workflow can read an email, open the PDF, check a portal, key the ERP, and log the result in Excel. Every app it may touch is declared up front.
Running agents
How are runs started?
On a schedule, on demand, or from a trigger like a file in a folder, a new email, or a new table row. Confirm trigger options for your version during the pilot.
What stops a run from starting?
A readiness check. If the workflow is not approved, the machine is not reachable, or the inputs are missing, the run never starts and the console tells you why.
What do the run statuses mean?
Queued, running, waiting on review, finished clean, and finished with exceptions. Exceptions are items the agent could not settle, each routed with a reason.
What does the agent do when it is unsure?
It does not guess. Unclear screens, low-confidence readings, and missing facts go to a person, a re-plan, or a stop, as your policy says. Nothing times out into proceeding.
Can we watch an agent work?
Yes. The console shows live status and a live view of each agent's screen, and past runs keep step-by-step screenshots. Alerts reach you by email or chat when a person is needed.
Can we stop an agent mid-run?
Yes. Stop means stop, and the record shows exactly which steps committed. Stopping does not reverse what the ERP already posted; that stays your call.
How do we know it is paying off?
The console reports runs, exceptions, success rate, and hours returned per workflow. Compare them with your pre-pilot baseline, minus the reviewer hours added.
How do we reach support?
Through a panel inside the tool, answered by an engineer who works on LaunchAI. Share your screen, point at the run, and expect a reply in minutes.
Security and data
Does LaunchAI see our data?
No. Screens and files are handled on your machine. A step that needs a model sends only the part of the screen it is reading, and only to your own model account.
Are our documents used to train AI models?
Not by LaunchAI, which never receives them. Your model provider's retention terms are set by your account, so settle them before the pilot.
Which AI models does it use?
Whichever you connect: OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure, Bedrock, or a self-hosted model. You can swap models later without rebuilding the workflow.
What does telemetry collect?
Product health and version info, only where you turn it on. Nothing from your screens, disk, or credential vault.
Will portals flag the agent as a bot?
The agent works in your own browser, in your session, from your office IP, at human pace, so portals see a normal user. If a portal still asks for a captcha or a one-time code, a person supplies it.
Is LaunchAI SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certified?
The site makes no certification claims. The controls are documented on the Security page, and most can be verified during a pilot on a test machine. LaunchAI security →
Can an agent approve a payment by itself?
Only if someone built it that way and a person with approval rights promoted it. Put a review step before money moves and the agent waits there.
How does IT shut off every agent at once?
Revoke the devices. Agents only run on enrolled machines, and revoking one stops its agents.
Fit
Which industries is LaunchAI built for?
Manufacturing, construction, and property management, the three industries mapped in the Process Atlas.
Our ERP is not on your list. Will it work?
If a person can use it on a screen, an agent can, including legacy desktop ERPs, terminal screens, homegrown databases, and vendor portals.
How big does a company need to be?
There is no minimum. LaunchAI fits mid-market back offices where one person owns a process end to end and there is no automation team. The real test is the workflow: enough volume, clear rules, and someone to review.
Can a company with no IT department use it?
Yes, if someone takes the IT seat to enroll machines, hold the model account, and set permissions. Often that is your outsourced IT provider or ERP partner.
Does it work with Google Workspace?
Yes. Gmail, Sheets, and Drive in the browser are apps like any other.
Does LaunchAI install anything inside the ERP?
No. There is no customization, add-on, or connector to carry through upgrades. Check your ERP agreement for clauses on automated use.
When does a narrower tool cost less?
When the whole job fits what that tool was built for: API-to-API syncs, massive identical batches on an RPA server farm, or extraction from millions of pages. Many teams use both.
Roles and responsibilities
What changes for the person doing the work today?
The keystrokes go; the decisions stay. An AP clerk works a short queue of invoices outside tolerance instead of keying every header.
Should people worry about their jobs?
The tasks most at risk are the typed ones. Deciding, explaining, and fixing stay with people, and building a team's agents is a skill that travels. Decide before the pilot what the returned hours are for.
Who owns the rules an agent follows?
The business. Rules are written in plain language and edited by the process owner, with every change versioned and reversible.
How do review items reach the right person?
By role, region, or amount, with alerts on arrival, escalation when items wait too long, and backups when someone is out. Reviewers can work the queue from a phone.
What does IT own once agents are live?
The platform, not the steps: machines, patches, enrollment, the model account, and stored credentials. Process owners own the steps and rules.
Comparisons with other tools
How is LaunchAI different from ChatGPT or Claude?
Those are general assistants, great for one-off tasks. LaunchAI is a governed back-office product with exact rules, review steps, per-action screenshots, schedules, and enrolled machines, running on the model you choose.
How is it different from UiPath, Power Automate, or other RPA?
RPA replays scripts that break when screens change, and developers maintain them. LaunchAI agents read the screen and are built by the person who does the work. For huge identical batches on a server farm, RPA can cost less per item.
Should our developers use a framework like LangGraph instead?
Frameworks suit engineering teams working over APIs, but leave you to build screen control, review queues, and the evidence trail. LaunchAI supplies those, and developers can still add Python to any step.
Why not write our own Python or Playwright scripts?
Scripts are cheap until a button moves, a monitor changes, or the author leaves. LaunchAI adds verification after every action, review steps, and a record an auditor can read.
How does it compare with Gumloop, Lindy, or browser agents?
Those are quick for inbox, CRM, and web tasks. LaunchAI covers that and keeps going into desktop ERPs, customer portals, and review steps in one audited workflow.
Which comparison should I read first?
